Approved a major National Social Science Bidding Project (New)

OnNovember 26, 2021, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciencesofficially announced the list of major projects of the National Social ScienceFund in 2021. A total of 347 subjects (351 chief experts) are to be approved.The major project of the National Social Science Fund is Philosophy and Society.The category of projects with the highest scientific level, the most fundingand the most authoritative. Professor Qiu Jiang, as the chief expert, led theapplication of the project "Research on the Evaluation and ImprovementPath of Youth Innovation Quality Based on Brain Science", which wasapproved.

Thechief expert has been focusing on the theme of evaluation and improvement ofinnovative quality (creative thinking) in brain science for a long time, takingthe "China Brain Project" brain development project, Chongqing BrainProject, 111 Talent Introducing Project and Southwest University RuralRevitalization Education Project as an opportunity, established a creativemultimodal brain imaging database, combined with cutting-edge methods andtechnical means such as deep learning, to reveal the critical period of thedevelopment of young people's innovative quality and the law of braindevelopment, as well as the interaction mechanism between genetics andenvironment and the brain in the cultivation and improvement of innovativequality.

Themultimodal database established so far has laid a solid foundation forlong-term longitudinal follow-up (regular retesting of behavioral and braindata in children and adolescents). The creative research team led by the chiefexpert has become one of the teams with important academic influence in thefield of "creative neural mechanism" in the world. It has put forwardcountermeasures and suggestions to evaluate and enhance the innovative qualityof adolescents in the new era from the three levels of the state, schools andindividuals.
