On October10,2017, Dr. Yoed Kenett from the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania visited the faculty of psychologyof Southwest University, and made a scholar reports titled ‘The role of semantic memory in the creative process: A graph theoretical research’.
Dr. Kenett had indepth communication in semantic memory in the creative process with Prof. Jiang Qiu. His Network Control Theory interested Prof.Qiu, and then they discussed some potential corporation and reach an agreement.
Dr. Yoed Kenett have a B.A. (2007) and M.A. (2009) degrees in Cognitive Science from the Hebrew University at Jerusalem Israel, Ph.D. (2015) in neuroscience from Bar-Ilan University. Currently he is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, working at the lab of Dr. Sharon Thompson-Schill. His research investigates the structure of semantic memory(our memory of knowledge and facts) and how it constrains cognitive processes operating over it, such as creativity and memory retrieval, in typical and clinical populations. To do so, he apply computational network science methods to quantitatively study the structure of semantic memory and derive empirical predictions. From these predictions, he apply neurocognitive empirical methods to examine higher-level cognition across different levels.
